Sweden Balboa Society (in cooperation with Heptown and Cats’ Corner) invites everyone to a Balboa Revival weekend in Malmö.

The Balboa Revival workshop is for those who have taken at least a beginner’s weekend workshop in Balboa Swing (or at least part of a beginner’s course) and up to those who have danced Balboa Swing for several years and completed many courses.

For members in the Sweden Balboa Society there will be a mini workshop on the 1st of February 2009 at the Swedish Swing Society. Teachers are Mia Goldsmith & Peter Loggins from Seattle.

Learn Balboa from Newport Beach California

17:00 - 18:00 Bal Swing
Learn original Swing Dance from Los Angeles during 1930’s. This class will go over and describe the Basics you see in the Movies,
and includes other dances such as Charleston & Shag.

During both classes there of course will be attention to followers stuff as well as for leaders. This will be interesting for the girls
with Mia as a teacher.

18:00 - 20:00 Mingle + buffé
We eat and drink and have fun together for two hours. If we are lucky, Peter might give a short lecture in the history of Balboa.

Peter and Mia will also show examples of how to dance Balboa to dificult jazz music for example Be Bop. Beside that we all decide what the evening will end up with.

As of today, Balboa United starts as an online resource for Balboa dancers. Our hope is to involve as many people as possible as a network in Europe.
